H. Steve Byrd, M.D.

Dr. H. Steve Byrd is a Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical School and Director of Service for Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas. He has his private cosmetic practice at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas with offices at the Tom Landry Center. Dr. Byrd’s pediatric plastic surgery practice is located at the BankOne building near Children’s Medical Center. 

He graduated from North Texas State University receiving his BA with Honors as a member of the Blue Key Honor Society. Dr. Byrd graduated from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston with Honors and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha honorary academic society. He completed his internship at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in Dallas as well as a residency in General Surgery at the University of Utah Medical Center in Salt Lake City, Utah. Dr. Byrd is board certified in two specialties: General Surgery and Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery. He was awarded the prestigious, James Barrett Brown Award of the American Society of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons.

Dr. Byrd is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He speaks and teaches nationally and internationally on rhinoplasty and the temporal midface lift. He has authored and published numerous scientific articles and textbook chapters.

Dr. Byrd is married and the father of three children. He is an avid fisherman and hunter. He enjoys motorcycling, flying his own airplane, and video editing.
