Richard Y. Ha, M.D.

Richard Y. Ha, MD is a pediatric plastic and craniofacial surgeon who specializes in surgery for cleft lip and palate, congenital ear deformities (microtia), facial paralysis (facial reanimation), craniosynostosis and craniofacial disorders, birthmarks, microsurgery, congenital breast deformities, and facial trauma. He also performs non-surgical molding treatments for ear deformities using the EarWell® system. Dr. Ha is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and is an active member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons, the American Cleft Palate-Craniofacial Association, the American Society of Maxillofacial Surgeons, and the American Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons. He is active in teaching residents and fellows, serving as a Clinical Instructor at the U.T. Southwestern Department of Plastic Surgery and as a director of facial trauma at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas.

Dr. Ha is a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine and completed his undergraduate studies with Honors at Brown University. He completed his general surgery and plastic surgery training at the U.T. Southwestern Medical Center. He completed his fellowship in Craniofacial and Pediatric plastic surgery also at U.T. Southwestern and Children's Medical Center. Utilizing his specialized training in cleft lip/palate and craniofacial surgery, he has participated in surgical missions with the LEAP foundation, providing care to underprivileged children in the Dominican Republic and Belize.

Over the past several years, Dr. Ha has written numerous articles, chapter, and textbooks and has lectured nationally and internationally on a number of topics, including cleft lip and palate, microtia, facial trauma, body contouring, rhinoplasty, facial reconstruction, blepharoplasty, facial cosmetic surgery, liposuction, gynecomastia, etc.

Throughout his practice, Dr. Ha has recognized the importance of good communication and education during consultations with children and their parents. He has a team of high-level specialists to help deliver comprehensive care from the initial visit to post-surgical recovery. He draws upon his expertise and experience to provide safe and optimal results for his pediatric patients.
